For as long as I can recall, the ocean and those that live there in have been my passion. It is as if I was born seeking to find my family of the waters. If you have had the honor of ever swimming with the dolphins, you may know exactly what I mean. I have seen that even an encounter from a boat, or the shore brings such joy to all those present. My years in Hawaii were in many ways my perfection. Being near the water is my greatest joy, and the dolphins did indeed become family. I have been away from the water for far too long now, as my journey led me east and to many years in Europe. These past two I have been upon the Great Lakes of Michigan, as I attended to family affairs and cared for my Grandmother til I was no longer needed. That time has come, and as I begin to travel again, I once again feel the islands, the waters calling. Honestly they never have not called me home. I think now more than ever is a crucial time to return and reconnect with the dolphins as the government is trying to ban dolphin human interactions. I feel it is a vital moment to go and utilize my skills as a photographer, as well my natural connection with the dolphins, to reflect and share that this is indeed their choice to be connecting with us. In a matter of seconds a dolphin could be gone, and swim away if they so chose, but instead they have a desire to connect with us, they come to us, encircle us, or swim side by side, with their powerful yet gentle presence showing us the way. They will even find leaves in the water, passing them around between humans and the dolphins, to play. The dolphins love to play, it is one of their greatest lesson for us, to live in joy. I have lost time being with them, and found an eternal space of pure love within there presence. I hope to show that they are here to teach us, and show us how to live in joy, and how to love, just to begin. I feel I must reflect all I can of them and to share their ways, in hopes that others will begin to see reason to protect them and their home. I often find people view dolphins like unicorns or mermaids, not that I want to deny anything could be or could have been, anything is possible in my view, yet lets look at dolphins, for they are here right now, and very real. Indeed some of the most intelligent creatures I have found in all of my journeys around this world. With the continued devastation to our oceans, their home, I am passionate to make my life more about what I can do to bring awareness to the state of the oceans, our effects as humans both negative and positive, and hope to inspire the positive elements to grow, like cleaning our oceans, protecting them from further rubbish build up, and most of all to be a voice for those that call the waters home as we, humans, continue to connect and communicate with the brilliant beings. I hope to further this interconnection with the dolphins, and the whales as well, to share their levels of communication and find their messages through my reflections. I am looking at making my way west again, and hopefully come the new year back to the islands, at least a moment to begin. Feeling grateful that a childhood love, is becoming once again the focus of my path. Follow your heart, and live your passion, it is your gift to this world!
